My Story
I’ve always been innately curious and marvelled at all things babies, birth, and pregnancy. As a young child I asked big questions about conception, while dressing my dolls in preemie nappies & swaddling them. A tiny doula-in-the-making, I loved being in a nurturing and caring role.
I completed a Bachelor of Social Work in 2013. After graduating I relocated from Canada to the UK and lived there for 10 years working and walking alongside parents and families. In 2017 I read a research paper about doulas and had a lightbulb moment - I immediately signed up to complete my doula training and certified in 2018. I love all doula work, but postpartum is my passion. Giving birth to my son at home in 2020 lockdown, and experiencing motherhood as an expat parent reaffirmed that all families should have access to a support network; a “village” for when your village are not accessible or available to you.
I’m here to be a part of that village and support families to navigate their unique postpartum experience, and most importantly, to leave them feeling nourished, supported and loved. When I’m not working you can find me stomping around like a dinosaur with my preschooler, tending to my garden, or out on an adventure with my family exploring our new neighbourhood on the Gold Coast and beyond.
