My Story

From a young age, I had an urgent need to care and I was captivated by the miracle of life’s beautiful cycle. I was naturally drawn to caring for people and completed my Bachelor of Nursing while traveling around the world.

Over the past years, I have worked in many remote communities across Australia and in this time developed a keen interest in maternity, sexual health, and education.

Tidal Birth was born after spending years working within the mainstream Australian Healthcare System. Being a nurse has always been a privilege but throughout the years cracks appeared. With limited time, increasing documentation, and reporting demands, nurses and midwives have precious little time to do the one thing that drew us to the profession. CARE! I became unwilling to accept caring less and not having enough time to care, as part of my job.

Tidal Birth organically sprouted to address a gap in women’s healthcare and provide holistic support to women and their families during pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period. I believe pregnancy and motherhood are profoundly unique to the individual and therefore the care available to them should reflect that.

My skills, and knowledge allow me to hold space for women and their families to have a positive and safe birth experience. I am passionate about education and believe that empowerment during pregnancy thrives when seeded on a foundation of choice.

Tidal Birth offers women choice.
